A Poem For The New Year 2020 Poem by Bharati Nayak

A Poem For The New Year 2020

Rating: 5.0

The year 2019 is fast ending
Only one day remaining
A year with so many ups and downs
Many events and people criss crossed
In spite of the cyclone Fani, heavy rains and floods
In spite of terror and wars
The year has been
A wonderful year for me
I have many good friends
Spread across the globe
Their inspiration, kind words and blessings
I will surely be counting
And my lovely Home Poem Hunter
Has made me feel more secured.
I wish the New Year 2020
Shall be full of happiness and prosperity
For all my friends as well as the whole mankind.

With the approach of New Year
I wanted to wish for my friends,
So, I went on writing messages
But I found I have a long list
Each name I looked at
I felt - wow- I have not wished him yet
All are my great friends
I find myself lucky to have met them.
Then I thought I should write a poem
Which would include all their names
But- - - I know - -it is not easy still
As the list goes on increasing.
So, dear friends!
I choose my page to wish you all
A very Happy New Year.

Thank you - - Your friend Bharati

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wish to share the appreciation byDaniel Brick on this poem sentthrough his email on 31st December 2019
RE The old and the new
"Bharati, even though, young wrote PENT-UP on the last day of 22019, I consider it the first poem of 2020. It is airy, light, fleet and generous - all qualities your poem can now deliver to us people, who are
probably weighted down by the weight of time and fortune. If we sit and brood we may find reason to be grumpy and complain at this day of beginning. If we are wise we will try to jump on the wave of optimism your
poemexpresses. Both options are equally available and meaningful. You chose to express hope, gratitude and further joy, and look it has already summoned me to a better disposition this New Years Eve. I will do my part to extended your mood of joy. There is no telling when the good stuff you started will end. Maybe it will last until Dec.31,2020! ! "

RE New Year's Greeting

"New Year's Poem
Even in a celebratory poem you cannot hide the fact that many people are suffering from natural or unnatural causes. So you acknowledge some of those problems in the opening of your poem, then tucked them away as you launched into the poem's real purpose- to celebrate 2019 and hope it's "good stuff" continues into 2020. And if sincerely made hopes are genuine, then it should be a good year - 2020. I'm glad you wrote this poem which combines two virtues - gratitude and hope. Your Gratitude looks back at 2019 and what is sees is Time Well Spent. Your Hope looks forward into 2020 and sees a continuation of good things. You aren't making demands on the New Year to do what WE WANT.You are suggesting the good that served 2019 so well should stick around and make 2020 equally satisfying. But I like your quietude in this poem, it is contemplative rather than assertive. And we need that attitude of acceptance of WHAT IS. It clears the air, makes the air we breathe sweeter. Your poem helps us to turn the page to a new decade and make the year to come as wonderful as the year just spent."

I wish to express my great thankfulness and gratitude to have you as my poet friend, dear Bharati.Though less in visits, that makes the meaning never lesser, I wish to tell you about the precious moments I have known you through your loveliest words powerfully rendered, yet so much meaning for me. Before I go to the next page: A Happy 2020, dear Bharati. You are amongst the few who attracts my attention constantly, but time did not allow me

Such a sweet and joyful poem to read, of course you have many friends here because you are very kind to them. This gesture and wishes never for granted but to keep and appreciate when it is given. Hopefully this year will bring your persona bolder...you get wealthier in health and in so many friends care, luxurious in idea to write and in heart for all friends you have. Have a good month before make it better and better to the end! .
