A Perfect Apology Poem by Jake Harris

A Perfect Apology

Sorry is a funny word
Often said but rarely heard,
For to hear it one must say it true
'Cause it's silenced if it's hollowed through.
To make it true, three parts there are
And for a friend it's never hard.
'I'm sorry for the things i've done'
That's the part that's numbered one.
'It was my fault, that I'll accept'
For you must take the blame direct
And to complete your heartfelt plight
'What can I do to make it right? '
And yes it does sound quite unfair
But the sorry cannot just end there.
You must show true, your sorry's meant
And not just walk off ignorant
If it's done right, I know you'll find
Real happiness and peace of mind.
