A Passion Of A Home…. Poem by Dr. Sougata Banerjee

A Passion Of A Home….

When you arrived, I was gloomy, clogged, sullied….
Then you cared, loved and empathized.
I sparkled; I bloomed in your tender hand
And you whispered you are departing…
Departing in your known world of happiness and beauty
My world crumbled to see you wadding
And the heart fumbled in the sphere of uncertainty…

Don’t pack those smiles
Which you bestowed, when you were blissful

Don’t take those tears back
Which you shaded in the dark deep nights

Leave those moments for me
When it drizzled in the midnight..
And you were all awake in your dreams…

Leave those moments for me
When you were ecstatic
When you danced with the rhythm of life

Leave those moments for me
When we were together in your loneliness
When you sat alone with so many promises to keep….

Leave those moments for me
When you looked into those stars
With so many complaints in your eyes

Leave those moments for me
When you were depressed, crestfallen….
When your life seems no more yours

And leave those moments for me
When I grasped your hands,
Seeing you trembling, losing your faith

Don’t pack all those reminiscences
Don’t dump all those beliefs
Don’t forget this little home
Remember these memoirs some.
