A Pandemic Poem: Sayonara, Poof, Kaput, Finito! Poem by Nika McGuin

A Pandemic Poem: Sayonara, Poof, Kaput, Finito!

I've got a lot to say
but no words to say it with.
Lots of pain, frozen deep in my chest
yet no rays of warmth to melt it with.
Tears well up from the corners of my eyes,
just from taking a walk outside.
Behind my facemask these are the emotions I hide.

Well it's:
An epidemic, spreading to my soul -
my inner pandemic, which has taken hold.
Although I've tried to ignore it
even bubble-living optimism has its limits.
How much longer 'till my mental health is finished?

Sayonara, poof, kaput, finito!
Away, I just want this virus to go.

P.S. It's sometimes a relief (some at least) to get feelings 'out'. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've got other issues which bug the heck out of my sometimes, but i don't 'have to' wear a mask often, almost never; I'm lucky! ! bri :)

There are probably TOO MANY who share your feelings; if it were just YOU, it would still be too many! ! I hope your mood has improved. PH shows you online now, so i hope this means you are getting by ok (enough) . line 13 i've been led to believe that 'till is not as acceptable* a spelling as till. but....stilllll! * " Till is not an abbreviation of until—it's actually older than until—and it should not be written with an apostrophe." to MyPoemList bri ;)
