A November Morning Poem by Valsa George

A November Morning

Rating: 4.9

A cool November morning!
Today I rose much earlier than usual
I watch the night stealing away
Like an accused convict under cover
Sunlight peeks through the leaves.
In the haze of overhanging mist,
Only the blurred silhouette of trees in sight
The crows have begun their raucous call
The leaves of grass are misted with dew
A cool zephyr blows from the south
Clouds float like shredded cotton
Even Sirius, the brightest star has paled

Life is slowly beginning to unfold
And men like shadows have begun to move
The sun has now climbed to the Eastern hills
In scintillating glory like a mighty king
Shattering the mist with his lance like beams
I enjoy the sweetness of this morn
In serene silence, I stand and watch
The light that slowly fills the Earth,
Dispelling all trace of darkness!

We enjoy watching a poet beautifying a morning, be it November or December or any other number, using all the decors she possesses. Wonderful very inspiring, indeed.

No feeling is perhaps as majestic and wonderful as watching the sun rise.. I loved the way in which you placed an image after another with vivid but aptly chosen detail to give the readers a 'feeling' of the morning... Simple images with similies.... And the poem ends with the beginning of a new day.. An awakening of the day and maybe one's soul too (perhaps I am reading too much into this) and that is the most beautiful thing about this poem, in my humble opinion - the ending is the beginning... A beautiful poem ma'am... Thanks for sharing...

This poem is not only a beautiful evocation of time and place; it is also gorgeous. Gorgeous is an aspect of the beauty which emphasizes the ABUNDANCE of desireable qualities so that the viewer is stunned, overwhelmed. That's how I felt as the poem unfolded and the day woke up. But your presence in the scene is quiet and appreciative. You are not overwhelmed but are enjoying with poise a free moment before the day begins in earnest

The December noon is ahead, so make preparations to welcome it in November morning, cold is painful for the old, but the clever humans know the art of making every season a spring! Liked your November Morning and started waiting for the December noon. Expect a poem from you on a December noon.
