A Nano Second Poem by Charles Hughes

A Nano Second

Rating: 5.0

A moment in time
Awake, only forward bound
Profound beliefs
Brief appearance, an episode
A nano second, a blip
Quadrillions of moments
No beginning no end
Never a concern, never a falter
A passing rhyme
Recorded by line
Events not as you please
No warranties
Past, present and future
Back to Back
Around and around, to-and-fro
The dance of dances, life's do-si-do
Loads get heavy
Thoughts get weary
Tick-tock was the clocking
Clang-clang, bang-bang, boom-boom
Damn that internal mocking
Tick-click-boom
Harken! Hear ye!
Scant seconds toll for thee
Woe, Woe, Woe
Slow, Slow, Slow
Rise oh faithful one
Rise from prayer worn knee
Rise erect with raised head
Let loose the fleeting moment
Grasp your eternal hour instead

Your use of short choppy lines intensifies your images of nano seconds passing. Your poem made my time stand still. Great job. You lived up to the recommendation I got from you-know-who. Tom

ANOTHER REASON TO LIVE IN THE MOMENT AND TO STRESS CONTENTMENT, TO SEEK THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF LIFE. WELL PUT, MR. HUGHES. LOTS OF CREATIVE IMAGERY.
