A Murder Poem by Gayatri Palande

A Murder

Rating: 3.8

I waked down the street
I was feeling the heat

I stumbled over a root
Making my anger shoot

My eyes alit with fury
What was in her smile so alluring?

Hastily I pull out my knife
With that I end her life

I snatch the ring from her finger
And I do not linger

Remorse suddenly grips me
Wasn't she trying to be friendly?

Helping me up and setting me right?
Why was this an eternal fight?

I break into a run
I mustn't turn

Guilt and fear envelopes around
Suddenly I just break down

The ring still tightly in my grip
I put in in my pocket with a trembling lip

Then I hear a friendly voice
And see another woman's alluring smile...
