A Mornings Word 09/11/07

Just what am I suppose to do

I got one man talking on the T.V.
and another on the radio.
One man wants my money
and the other wants to save my soul.

I got one man standing on the corner
He's got a sign in his hand,
says 'Will work for food' you know
cause I'm a hungry man.

I got one man who lives in a big house
All painted pretty and white.
He's trying to tell everybody,
everything is going to be alright.

Just what am I suppose to do?
Do I believe their lies,
the way they want me to.
Do I deny the cries,
and pretend it is not true.

Just what am I suppose to do?
Just what am I suppose to do?

I've got one man standing in an alley,
He's got a gun in his hands.
He tired of being a poor man,
and he thinks he's got a plan.

And now that one man's lying in the gutter,
As his life’s blood flows away.
No more will he look to find,
another bright and sunny day.

Just what am I suppose to do?
Why can't I walk away,
just like others do.

And why should I care,
what some folks think about it,
or do I dare to speak my mind about it.

Tell me

Just what am I suppose to do?
Just what am I suppose to do?

I've got one man shouting from the roof tops,
So everyone can hear.
He's trying to tell the whole wide world,
that the end is almost here.

And I've got one man lying in his death bed,
He's got tears in his eyes.
He's asking for the Good Lord,
to forgive him as he dies.

Just what am I suppose to say?
Am I to close my eyes,
or turn and walk away.

Do I deny the truth,
and say that I don't care.
Or do I turn my back,
and pretend it is not there.

Just what am I suppose to do?
Just what am I suppose to do?
