A Mighty Transition Poem by Pankti Vadalia

A Mighty Transition

I had been born a caterpillar;
A vulnerable caterpillar.
Lived a vulnerable life
Did what I should never have done;
Spoke what I should never have thought;
Ignored gems I should never have taken for granted.
I tripped into wrong things;
Kept making flaws even after suffering the consequences.
Swallowed poisonous leaves as they looked attractive to the bodily senses;
Escaped my predators for mere seconds.
Lived Death more than I ever lived Life.

I came to the stand: I had had enough.
I decided to take a re-birth, be born again;
Live as I had wanted to when I was born!

So have I made the mighty transition from a Vulnerable Caterpillar to an Independent Butterfly!

Though a new life is never easy,
I have to fight the musty habits that have intervened all along the way.
I have to get past the comfort zone, and courageously step forward into the apparent darkness of a new beginning.

Nevertheless.
This is an opportunity, a silver chance.
To pluck out lessons from the hard days,
To fetch out good memories from the happy ones.
To live NEW.
And that says a lot!

Yes, I will still settle on poisonous flowers;
Dream of nectar, and feed myself poison.
I will still forget to keep caution,
Escape my predators by sheer luck.
But each time I survive,
I will thank Nature for forgiving my errors,
Make sure I never forget my realizations and lessons.
Make sure I never put myself down.

Dear Creatures on Earth. Meet me,
I'm a mighty butterfly.
I have lived the pain of transition.
I have tasted suffering.
I have caught glimpses of failure.
I have been wounded; but each time
I have got myself braver than ever.
I no longer believe in fate, I'm the creator of my fortune.
The life I live is no coincidence, it is what I have made it.

The Universe flows through my soul.
Time travels within my veins.
No power can beat me,
No predator can take my life away.
I'm no longer a vulnerable caterpillar,
I'm a courageous Butterfly!

Your determination to take a 'silver chance' reveals your love of life's grand possibilities and also that your fear of the unknown is inferior to your bravery. As well, your defiance of mediocrity seems a cute quality to me, and one that should serve you well in life. Safe travels, metamorphosed creature ;)
