A Man's Thing Poem by Chinonso Uche

A Man's Thing

Kookorokoo! awakes a man
He stretches and praises
By booting his brain,
He does a man's thing

Okpo-ovuvu alerts the man
He realises his sufferings
Through struggles and smiles,
He does a man's thing

As the sun goes so west
He prepares to die
By dying a temporal death,
He does a man's thing.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My Chatting with Honey gave me the insight. She asked me how my day was and the reply 'Tough, it's a man's thing' brought about it.
Dedicated to Ify Olise's unborn child
