A Love Called Graceful And Not Let Go Poem by Jack Lam

A Love Called Graceful And Not Let Go

Even if I should come once to
this planet
in one dash
one kairos moment
in one billion years
joining you so brief
for all its sweet tears
and all its grief

Well, let all that must happen
happen in a flash
let me bow
humbly down
thanking all the stars
holding you I won't let go

penning this poem now
with an unseen hand
slowly growing old
holding you I won't let go

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I rewrote this poem in English after attempting to translate it from a Chinese poem. The original was about love and loss. I decided to turn it into a poem with a bigger picture viewing the possible infinite scope of the existence of human in the vast expanse of the many universes. One thing that gives me hope is there is life after death. I believe that we are not mere physical and mental. There is an unseen spiritual aspect that exists and cannot be extinguished.

Thanks for the poet's note. It helps in the understanding of the poem. This seems to be the first poem that you have posted to this website. Welcome to Poem Hunter!

thank you for your visit and comment. I really appreciate your feedback. I shall post a second one which is again my attempt in translation and rewriting to give the poem another perspective.
