A Lifetime Together Poem by G. Hollis Humberson

A Lifetime Together

Our lives are fleeting
Sands in an hourglass
We continually search
For a love that will last
We hope and wish
We ponder and we pray
Longing for true love
To finally come our way
The road we travel
Is often filled with turns
While deeply inside
The desire still burns
To find true romance
A love that is forever
Becoming as one
Sharing our life together
We were not made
To spend our time alone
And no greater love
Has our God shown
Joining man and woman
In a ceremony of love
It is so commanded
>From heaven above
For to committed people
Becoming husband and wife
Sharing joys and sorrows
All the days of their lives
There's no greater love
Than Christ for His bride
A love as deep
As the ocean is wide
And so it has been true
>From the beginning of mankind
Two souls joined as one
For it's love that binds
Our hearts together
Until death do us part
Yes, love conquers all
When it comes from the heart

Our lives are fleeting
Sands in an hourglass
We continually search
For a love that will last
We hope and wish
We ponder and we pray
Longing for true love
To finally come our way
The road we travel
Is often filled with turns
While deeply inside
The desire still burns
To find true romance
A love that is forever
Becoming as one
Sharing our life together
We were not made
To spend our time alone
And no greater love
Has our God shown
Joining man and woman
In a ceremony of love
It is so commanded
>From heaven above
For to committed people
Becoming husband and wife
Sharing joys and sorrows
All the days of their lives
There's no greater love

A love as deep

>From the beginning of mankind
