A Life With You Would Be The Death Of Me Poem by Sierra Kavanagh

A Life With You Would Be The Death Of Me

I didn't need forever
I just needed one night
I wanted you beside me
But only for that moment
I didn't want you forever
Only a moment

You can trust me when I say
You're better off without me
You never needed me anyway
I just wanted a night
I wanted you beside me
But only for a moment
I didn't need you forever
Barely a time

I find it hard to believe
That you can't see
A life with you
Would be the death of me
To leave you cold and broken
Is what I would do
I'd never look back
I wouldn't return to you

I was not yours to keep
I was yours to hold
A short time lived
It was not meant to be
I'm not worth waiting for
So close the door when you leave.
