A Letter To My Dad Poem by Craig Mize

A Letter To My Dad

Dear daddy,

I'm sorry.  I'm sorry for not being the son that you always wanted. For being that kid that only wanted to be with you, like you, and beside you. I'm sorry for wanting to be loved. I'm sorry for believing in you, for ever thinking that you actually cared.

I want to apologize for every tear that I shed missing you, for every minute that I spent waiting for you. I want to say that I'm sorry for every broken promise that you told me. It was obviously my fault that you weren't able to keep them.

Daddy I sincerely hope that you can forgive me, for ever wanting a father in my life. I'm sorry for believing that I needed a father figure in my life. For wanting that person to be you. I'm sorry that you never wanted to step up and be a man. And since I know that you won't ever apologize to me, this is my apology to you.
