A Lesson To My Son, Ahsan Poem by Mohammad Akmal Nazir

A Lesson To My Son, Ahsan

Rating: 5.0

Save yourself from false ambitions,
Save yourself from weak objectives,
Save yourself from discreditable begging,
Save yourself from shamlessness of the age,
Save yourself from being influenced,
As I wish to see the flames of love
In your eyes,
Kindle this flame
With the strength of your character.
And then
The whole world will be yours,
And above all
God will be yours.

Nice advices from a father to his son to achieve the true goal and lead a honourable lie. The language is very simple but, of course, the message is great, and secret of success.

I could feel the intensity of in this poem and how deep a love from a father to a son. Poet wants his son to hold and seek the truth fact of live by each lesson learned from his past so the son could not repeat the same mistake. I like the way it was written and keep it up with sincerity in your poem.

The wishes of a father to his son, are always good, and mean well. However not all sons listen and they must stumble before they understand the well meant advice of the parent.

Very fascinating, from a loving father to his precious son. If only he/we might be saved by God, then His eternal love will be in our hearts animating us forever, kept by and in Him....then only do I see that he might reach the peak to which you lovingly urge him.....Also I am reminded of what the Lord says in Proverbs...something like, let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck, write them on the table of thine heart, so shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
