A Glance Poem by June Steele

A Glance

you might have seen my glance
you might have not
well it can be a chance to say maybe alot
i was watching from a distance
thinking it will never show
was it all a coincidence
i wish i never know
to let it last as long as you are near
to let it be in spite of all my fear

a glance that said it all

one that said how lonely i can become
if you stop being in my life
in my days to come
i ask of you to stay close
open your heart to me
keep telling me those
words of you i learned to live upon

i glanced at you when you said her name
with eyes so sad, though you are not mine to claim
questioning my dreams of which you have become
my hero my rogue my wholesome

but now i fear
after being too clear
even though it was just one
a glance can be all it takes
to find that you are forever gone
