A Feast For The Eyes Poem by ritty patnaik

A Feast For The Eyes

making me wait
for a whole year
for the first bloom
of the cluster of laburnums!

flower fairies of the trees,
appear early in spring
in rich pendant yellow,
like topaz,
hanging on green leaves,
showing warmth and joy,
to the beholder.

seasonal laburnums,
cascading down,
in a flourish of golden yellow,
shining, like a hue
in a sunny afternoon.
spreading joy in the hearts
asking, nothing in return..
except for a look of admiration, .
for its peak of youth.

Ritty, I was born in North Wales, nearby there is stately home called Bodnant Hall which has an archway of laburnum which stetches like a long avenue of golden yellow when in bloom. Thank you for taking me home. Bob
