A Father's Love

The love of a father
Use to mean so much to me
It use to give me comfort
Like a tree to a leaf

The love of a father
is all I ever needed
to know that I was loved
and that he loved me

The love of a father
is sometimes hard
even though I am near
it seems to come from a far

But to feel a father's lover,
Now that is unique
it seems like a warm kiss
planted safely upon my cheek

To feel his embrace
even though their were few
kept me through the rough times
as though he was right their
protecting me through and through

That's a father's love
nothing can replace it
and to those of you who have not felt,
I dare you to embrace it.

Black is the beauty of the brightest day,
The golden belle of heaven's eternal fire,
That danced with glory on the silver waves,
Now wants the fuel that inflamed his beams:
