A Dysfunctional Couple Poem by Francis Duggan

A Dysfunctional Couple

They do not love each other or so 'twould appear
For the neighbours will tell you them they often hear
Shouting at each other in an aggressive way
I only quote here what I hear others say
Yet often in the town they do walk hand in hand
Human Nature is a thing I do not understand
Yet at each other they have been heard to scream
A dysfunctional couple that is how they do seem
Perhaps without their quarrels apart they would grow
In ways we all are dysfunctional though some than others more so
The neighbours can hear them when at each other they shout
But it does seem that with each other they cannot live without
A dysfunctional couple their type are not rare
There are many like them in the big World out there.
