A Decorated Palm Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

On a palm there are lines
Of trajectories - arteries of fate
Where journeys are sketched
What lingers in silence
To the culmination in time

A decorated palm; crystal lines....
From nothingness to the muscle of pneuma
A journey that began in a void
Terminates in a plot of land, beneath soil

And in these labyrinths of fate
Guiding are collective lines
Clairvoyance of the residue of human deed
To destiny's resolute hold, of the essence of time

The prophecy of palms
Perhaps a sentence, entrapment in time
Yet to the ardent seeker
A sanctuary to groom, a destiny to prime...
