A Criminal Or Ignored? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Criminal Or Ignored?

Rating: 5.0

A criminal or ignored?

That it my best friend
Not the dog, camera
Videos and pictures
I record what I can…

This time in Kensington
Near the restaurants
To East side, ATM, BMO's
I stood, took photo
Then set on video…

He was big but flesh
And was pushed on ground
As if a simple corpse
Of cattle on the hook
No power, resistance
But butcher was police,
No word but "brutal"
Used his hands, everything
As his knife and counter
Pulled and rolled and…

Victim's pants fully down
His buttocks in the sight…

And people passed, crossed
As do herds in the barns
I turned my video
And hid the camera

But I have one photo
In rush had forgotten
To push knob…

Instead
Hey you pig, the police
And the cows, the crowd
I write this and chisel
My pain to carve bitter memory…
