A Broken Toy Poem by Hikaru Etanaru

A Broken Toy

In this dark moonless night I walk
My heart beating heavily as I cross my block
In a lonely ally full of darkness I gawk
The eerie silence, my beating heart did mock

I saw a movement in the depth of shadows
As if, from depth of hell a demon arose
My heart clenched in a icy cage
My screams echoing in helpless rage

The day when hope and belief became unwanted
The day when the men in shadows, sexually assaulted
The day that came no shining knight
The day I lost more than just my right

As a human being, A woman at that
The day I lost my place in this accused habitat
I became a broken toy, A useless piece, a snuffed light
That day if only I had struggled more, gave a fight

They told me to be, hopeful and strong
While abandoning me in this world so wrong
While thinking of that I picked up a blade
And bade farewell to this world, betrayed

This was a story of a girl lost
In selfishness of men she paid the cost
As life was lost and the blood flowed
Never to find a safe abode

a soul, pure marked by men
Never to see the light again
A life made into an object of pleasure
The day we lost a jewel, a treasure
Today I speak not as a man but,
As poet here to rebut
The selfishness of man has reached a crossroad
Such a pity, waste of a life from God borrowed

Rape is AN EVIL ACT! A sad story to hear. But, be very strong with your mind. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
