War Poem by Hikaru Etanaru

War

I have seen the darkness,
I have seen the light.
I have seen  the carnage that comes after a fight.

I have seen despair,
I have seen hope.
I have seen loss that no one can cope.

I have seen hatred,
I have seen loves.
I have seen Angels fall from above.

I have seen countries lose there peace,
I have seen Innocence be paid as fees.
Yet why today we go to war,
Yet why can't I understand what we fight for?

The endless carnage in the name of God,
Sacrificing people in the name of our lord.
The endless carnage in the name of progress,
The marching soldiers in their battle dress.

We who are dumb,
We who are wise,
We who lead while all our followers dies.

Yet we who are made in our lords image,
In the name of life we scrimmage.
We kill, we maim, we commit crimes.
We change the world, dark-times.

In the world I live I cannot see,
A world without wars and its people free.
Or maybe it's just me who's,
Has seen a bit too much schmooze.
