A Broken Heart

To me it was so perfect; to me it was going fine,
I never thought I could lose you, I thought you'd always be mine.
How come I never noticed, how come I couldn't see?
That you were changing your mind, the way you felt about me.
We could have worked it out, we could have talked it through,
But you left it far to long, there was only one thing you could do.

I thought we’d always be happy, I thought you’d always be true,
I guess I wasn’t good enough, but I always had trust in you.
Rather than sit and talk, you went and betrayed your spouse,
While I sat and waited alone in the place we’d built, “Our House”.
I thought I could take one thing, from this life with thee,
That you only ever had one man and that man should have been me.

We built our life with faith, we built it with love and trust,
Now you’ve gone and spoilt it for a few nights of passion and lust.
Our marriage was never perfect, I’m sure you would agree,
But the man you gave your vows too is your Husband, that’s me.
I write these words with anger, and I still can’t believe,
You planned your nights of lust, and me you did deceive.

I loathe the man that did this, I’d love to see him pay,
For the torture he’s put me through, since I found out on that day.
You thought it wouldn’t hurt me, but to think that your so wrong,
Now I play out every scene to the words of every song.
What can be done to take away my pain before I go insane,
Nothing that’s what but it will never be the same.
