A(Bk) {ny}tale.If Onli U Knew

our eyes met so swift
the elder told me he came baring gifts
but never did i think they were this nice and bliss
and though his presence was so rich
to me he was priceless
he asked why i stayed away so long
my response was that i didn't even know
you knew that i was gone
poetics removed from his lips like a song
and by the very last word i was hooked; i was sprung
i drank from the fountain of his swag
the way he carried his jansport bookbag
his smile so peaceful and eyes so sad
and by the last word i was drunk
he was intoxicated with my trust
if he told me not to move
for it wouldn't do me well
i wouldn't budge
if this was a class of composure
i would surely flunk
his aura was so intense
and flawed i was immense
he said damn brooklyn i missed you
i said bk i missed you too
he smiled 'cause he knew
how deep i meant it and how true
in a state of such unfamiliarity
we can still count on eachother
when we need to be carried
and still unite as one
he said in order to know where your headed
i said u mustn't forget where your from
and our eyes remained locked
until our destination arrived
but even in our minds
our vision would never divide
and as i departed i glanced again
to get a peek of that peaceful smile
but all i got was a look as those disappointed eyes
and then right after my prior emotions had to hide
because i had to return to play the role of a lie
but although on the surface its looks
as though i paid it no mind
inside my soul is yearning for the day
we once again coincide
