241. My Future Poem by Jaden Knight

241. My Future

My future was just fading hope
my past a collection of broken dreams
my present was not worth fighting for
even if I had the strength

My personality had become like a minefield
sense of humour a desert
given up searching for happiness
it had caught a train months ago

My love life had become a crypt with many coffins
my self worth an empty treasury
my optimism committed suicide
my hope was a candle soon to burn out

And yet you came into my life accepting me
with 5 magic words you weaved a spell
the healing process began right away
so much has become positive thanks to you

My future was a fading hope
but now it shines much brighter
my present is now worth fighting for
with you by my side
my love I reciprocate your magic words
'my darling I love you'

It was a sad and depressing poem, I was about to start shedding a tear. Then I got to the 4th stanza, and what a change. It's amazing what just a few words can do (and of course everything that is behind those words) . btw, it's very close to the story of my life
