23 Poem by Julie Smith

23
You thought you were free
But you are chained
Once and again

To a life where the gain
Can't catch up to the pain
A year of fortune
Is lost to the torture

A great roller coaster of victories and falls
And quite honestly seriously fun
Falls victim to a Waterloo of ignorance
And in the end it's to decide between a trip and a gun

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
An age where things happen you never thought possible. The greatest things and the worst things. And just when you think you got it good you lose everything again you fought for
