041. The Joy Of The Sunrise Poem by Jaden Knight

041. The Joy Of The Sunrise

As I sit on the sandy beach
staring at the cool dark sea
waiting for the sunrise
the gulls begin to sing their verse
of the morning song of all the birds
announcing the dawn of a new day

Then as the other birds join in with the chorus
the sun begins to rise
spilling its golden light across the sea
blinding me with its glory
cleansing my troubled mind
and healing its wounds

Yesterday I was confused
as I watched the sun sink below the waves
being replaced by the cold staring moon
but now I understand
as the sun’s warmth revives me
filling me with new hope

The beach begins to fill with noisy tourists
laughing children play in the sea
releasing them from the stern orders of their parents
fun for them comes first

As I leave the now crowded beach
I look back at the sea
its clear waves inviting me back
I’ll return early morning
to feel your warmth again
filling me with joy
which cannot be described
