042. In The Forest Of Peace Poem by Jaden Knight

042. In The Forest Of Peace

Rating: 5.0

Pale sun light shines through
the leaves on the giant oak trees
I lie in the damp lush grass
reading an ancient book
listening to the black bird

Then with a triumphant fanfare
sounded by the cheeky robin
a great white stag appears in the clearing
followed by the rest of the herd
a proud escort for the royal beast
his huge antlers form his crown

I had only heard stories
about the white deer herd
now standing guard around their leader
shielding him from the prying eyes of the other creatures

The great white stag
the most beautiful creature I have ever seen
towers over the rest
but his nature is gentle to all
even to the other stags
within the quiet peaceful herd

As the sun sets behind the trees
the deer regroup to move on
I will follow the regal stag tomorrow
but for now I need some rest
sleeping alone beneath the trees
in the forest of peace
