I wake up from a night time sleep
Lie still and as my mind awakes
The first thing I remember is
There is so much now at stake.

In fact it's right down sad
Nature has wreaked havoc
It kind of makes me mad.

I just love the Yucca plant
With their pale yellow blooms
But they are a little spiky
And need some extra room

I would like to send a message, God
Up there in heaven with you
To my brother that I miss so much
It is something I need to do.

As you drive down a red dirt road
In the autumn of the year
You’ll find along the roadways
Wild plums so fresh and pure

Did you ever get so close to a cow
You could feel her warm breath on your face?
She continues chewing her cud thoughtfully
As you spend quality time in her space

There was a lady in my life for years
Who was so very dear to me
One day I had to say good-bye
She was on her death bed, you see

I wish this was my backyard
For it’s the perfect place for me
It’s beautiful and quite amazing
And it’s filled with tranquility

It is old and in disrepair
But for many years was strong
Folks gathered within its walls
As they sang sweet holy songs

It was fluffy like cotton candy
As lovely as anything I'd seen
A snow-scape when I awoke
Was exactly like a wintry dream
