Wild Sand Plums Poem by Marilyn Lott

Wild Sand Plums

Rating: 2.9

As you drive down a red dirt road
In the autumn of the year
You’ll find along the roadways
Wild plums so fresh and pure

The tanginess of the fruit
Brings a joy to your very senses
Your fingers pluck them off the tree
As you reach right through the fences

You can eat them on the very spot
Make preserves or even jam
Just put some in a bowl to serve
Along with your Sunday ham

So get out and take a drive today
To wherever this fruit abounds
Right down a red dirt road in which
The wild plums are found!
