Above the lake
Forms a round sound wave
That slices through the air

When it's time to re-enter the outside world,
She arranges her hair,
Covering it with a hat or scarf,
Glances in the mirror and puts on her public smile,

As earth spins
A wild clump of woolly clouds
Into threads of light,
Skein on skein

craning her neck
to see the crown through the boughs,
my daughter says:
'when I look up to the top

loosing my hair
large wad in the brush
let loose outside
robin finds a few strands
...

Fresh from leafery
slender green lizard
embarks upon the porch
to bask on the wooden deck.

I am trying to let go of you,
But it is you who have me -
Hook, line and sinker.

When all the writings done, what has been said?
I've used my verse to seduce a heart; at least
I want you. Can I rhyme you into bed?
