Kiptanui Rutto Poems

He is successful businessman
He is a good leader, farmer
Yes, he was a teacher like me
Why should you turn your back on me?
...

I feel high, I feel great
Sitting in my office chair
Swinging hands and tapping fingers on my keyboard
No more village sweating but working on a computer
...

The sun rise and another nation rises
The nation full of love and hatred
With many churches battling witchcraft.
The best part, the sun will set one day.

The Cry Of A Teacher

He is successful businessman
He is a good leader, farmer
Yes, he was a teacher like me
Why should you turn your back on me?

You get good sales, pamper harvest in your business
You earn good salary and much allowances
Yet I suffer in desert deserted in chalk dust
Why should you let me cry and no help?

You are driven in big range and land drovers
Enjoying chase cars of up to six guzzlers
While I walk, cycle and sometimes stuck in jam
Did we not suffer together?

I know you understand this pain
The gain you got is not a favour
But it is me who gave you the way
Did I not thought you nor vote you in?

You are my success
The sweat of my hands
When I ate soil and chalk dust
Kindly hear my plea
