Alone, a deserted beach.
Calm and breathless.
Silent, save for the gentle murmuring of water as it hugs the shore,
A familiar embrace sounds.

four bare walls
erected like porcelain sculptures
shaping into a hollow room.
a lone chair sits.
...

walking, rushing, running
the warm wind runs wispily across her face.
the sweet odor of the Japanese plum
exuding from the deep crimson blossoms,
...

I trusted you with my life
you stabbed me in the back.
I took a leap of faith
I showed you my world
...

wrapped around me
hidden by its folds
I peer reluctantly outward
Like stone, hunched, heavy, soundless.....
...

It's been awhile,
things have changed
I've changed.
...

limp like a rag doll
she sits in the corner
staring, emotionless.
her eyes once sparkling
...

goodbye wasn't enough.
it didn't stop.
there was no escape
held captive by your embrace.
...

amidst her battered body
a sweet and tender smile
the portrait of bravery
in a thwarted battle
