Hugs and laughter;
But not everything,
Is happily ever after.

So has a burst of laughter.

A smile to hide the pain.
Sorrow falling upon me,
Like frigid drops of rain.

Right from the start;
Little did I know,
You'd break my heart.

Dreams shattered,
Childhood stolen,
Innocence taken.
Anger swollen.

I try to let go;
But my mind won't let me,
Let go of the things in my past
That upset me.

'Because I'd rater feel pain than nothing at all'
To me, this sentence rings true;
In this world full of hate,
I'd rather be you.

Was I meant to lead,
Or meant to follow;
Was I meant to chew,
Or just to swallow.

I have walls,
They are the type no one can see.
I built them a while ago,
To guard this heart inside me.

Jobs, school,
Studying and bills.
Teaching and learning;
My brain fills.
