Except, now and then, a voice of despair
Is heard, as officials survey the aftermath
In view of a man on a porch sitting on a chair.

If I could only talk instead of bark,
I'd tell you of the desperate times I spent
Straying aimlessly through the streets,
With thoughts of starvation everywhere I went.

The green foliage is an attractive sight
On the vast landscape on a clear summer day,
As the white daisies gradually unfold along the side
Of a winding roadway that is somber and gray.

Out on the range long about now,
A cowpoke on his saddle horse is wiping his brow.
Others are tending the cattle and doing their best,
Attempting to find a favorable place in which to rest.

Today, a diploma was placed in a graduate's hand,
Surely, it must of felt worthy and so grand.
A significant document with a school seal attached,
Brought back memories of a similar match.

You have been a conscientious father,
You always gave me a helping hand,
You comforted me during times of tribulation,
You always helped me take a formidable stand.

More than peace and harmony,
I wish for you this Independence Day.
More than a glorious community reunion
With a famous celebrity leading the way.

No festivity and no reason
No place and no other season
Could ever compare with the sight
Of emotional reponse on children's faces

The snow was falling from the sky,
Skillfully concealing the land once more
With a variety of glimmering snowflakes,
The shapes and forms never seen before.
