Ode To New York

From Coney Island to Madison Square
The atmosphere excites as it fills the air
“The Empire State”. No other could compare
With a city that never sleeps, New York's beyond fair

Trips to Coney Island keep my mind at ease
As I stand atop the boardwalk, smelling ocean breeze
The state is a beauty beyond what eyes may see
With a city that never sleeps, New York's beyond fair

The only choice of destination in mind
And the site of Lady Liberty is ever so divine
It was here where I took my first steps and climbed
With a city that never sleeps, New York is beyond fair

From humble beginnings, I've experienced a lot
No bullet wounds to be found but it gave me a shot
At learning a life lesson that I've never forgot:
