your lack of faith and trust in God

The terror of the night sometimes frightens me
Especially when im alone I feel so trapped when im on my own

Life is as big as a hummingbird
and death is as light as night
life is as new as her last words
and death is as safe as a cobra's bite

When you were just a child
I would comb your hair and style it
with two french braids on either side
wow, the time is really flying

If there were some way
That I could escape
The dread from that night
From so long ago

Nothing is just a word
It couldn't have occured
that it could be so hurtful
Such a puny little word

Today I heard an angel cry
As if she knew about the lie
The lie that I’ve been living
Forgive me?

A longing for serenity
And a need for the ability
To let go of the past
And see what possibilities

Something that is nothing
Can be mistaken for that one thing
That impacts more than anything
And cause the pendulum to swing
