Janine Campbell Poems

The west wind blows its lilting song
Through pale dusk, before moonlight touches,
Pearl fingers on my window.
In star-tossed reflections from above
...

This wine is my life-blood.
Gladly, I give it all to you.
I turn this glass in my hand,
Throwing crystal reflections,
...

I came to you in soft colours,
delicate hues of morning flowers
shyly opening to the sun.
I pressed against your lips,
...

If I had only ever heard your voice,
echoing through my mind, touching my day,
resonating in my dreams as night wraps around me,
I would love you for this alone.

You are a thousand ripples from a
Precious stone tossed in the water.
You spread out from me

Love, that I should
be in you,
pulsing in your blood.
To live in you, in your veins,

Touches of blueness on sultry red
making swirls of violet, my favourite colour.
Knowing this, knowing it too well,

Now You Are Here

The west wind blows its lilting song
Through pale dusk, before moonlight touches,
Pearl fingers on my window.
In star-tossed reflections from above
I call to you, across the darkening seas.
Harps surround me, in fragrant tunes,
Whispering dreams of love.

All things are one with this night,
My heart flies to you, a moth on wing
In raptures with your soul.
And bids you ‘come',
Across the distance that the dark unfolds.
Bringing me tomorrow’s sun,
And all that love holds near.
