Battle

Silence
sound of a bird in the distance
the battle has ended

I have won
I have made myself victorious
I have annihilated the foe

corpses under my feet
burned flesh
smoke drifts in the air

the scent enters my nostrils
filling up my lungs
remedy for aching mind

I have thought it will make me feel better
but I am not
I am not fine

rattle of horses and echos of swords
so real not so long ago
amused my heart

full of rage I have been fighting
killing you
taking revenge

seeing you downfalling
forcing you to beg
triumph was supposed to be mine!

Still...
I am not
I am not fine

silence
the bird flown away
I have lost the battle
