Helgard du Preez Poems

Thy now I stand with grief,
the pain has shook my heart,
I am a tree without a leaf,
all the roots drained, I have no part.
...

Love is like a Photo,
Sometimes Clear, sometimes Faint,
Some you've Lost, some you've Gained.
...

Once I feared a languid daemon
Draped with a sullen piercing horn
I was dazzled till I faced the truth
When I saw a stranger’s hoof
...

Splinters swimming into lively flesh
Seeking death for a futile cause
Reviling hells with poisoned spit
Lands inside an infernal pit
...

This life as you know it, clinging onto my shoulders,
A burden so heavy, I have to carry,
Little pebbles have grown into boulders,
I miss the times I could depend on daddy
...

When thy gloaming nightfall sets ashore
Insomnia settles, elicited by gyrating ambivalences
Thy clock silently incites into a motionless tranquility
Cerebrations, idealizations, it forms my inner core.
...

Speak to me, ‘Oh toothless one,
Please excuse the babbling talk, my trifling pun,
I had to do it, it was sooo much fun,
It shot like the bullet, of a gun,
...

You know, when I miss you so much
I gently squint my eyes, tardily it will deepen into an elated eventide
My inner being weiglessly floats towards the upper pinnacle
Drifting into no-man's-land
...

Fatigued by the muscle of thy twisting tongue
Stabbed in the dorsum with your venomous tittle-tattle
Tiny flakes heap up into a monstrous snowball ready on the hung
This is the engagement of the perpetual battle
...

I remember yesteryear with my unshielded anima
Flavored with undesirable seasons
Cold howling winds crying out an enigma
Violent blizzards raining me with inner demons
...

I exist with an ocean’s worth of salt
The cold blue running deeply in my veins
An inconsistent mass of sadness lies inside my vault
No silky shores in my domains
...

Look into my eyes; you’ll see a reflection of yourself, filling my inner space
There you’ll see one star that I so much embrace
A stellar phenomenon with the sunniest shine
Filling my heart with the rarest minerals to mine
...

I melt in the presence of your cosmos
Yet gravity keeps on steering me back
I cannot thrust into your atmosphere
My hunger is strong, still some things I lack
...

Have you ever seen a twister?
It peeled my skin into a blister
An unpleasant bristle through my hair
Shaking my inner city, into despair
...

Gazing into the cheval glass
A catch of a shining icon,
An Emitted lucid container
Lento crusading towards the adjacent cast,
...

16.

Before the chatoyant twilight came ashore
Dazzled whims blocked my soul
I had to break the chains of hells
To break these horrendous Satan spells
...

In the reflection of my mortal sword
Behind the cold hearted steel
A netherworld awaits my soul
My shield the only rescue in my hope to find the Promised Land
...

A mystery with missing vowels and consonants
Only one chance is what you’ll get
To incur your acclaim and prove you're worth
To enter a level of a newborn birth
...

You are playing chess with my heart
Your adroit tactics puts Kasparov to shame
Mastery of deceit puts you in the hall of fame
You lurch me in with your acerbic tactics

My Broken Leaf

Thy now I stand with grief,
the pain has shook my heart,
I am a tree without a leaf,
all the roots drained, I have no part.

The sun is shining, no more,
the rain overflooded my veins,
the lightning strikes without a roar,
split into pieces, with no remains.

What I have thought was the beginning,
was indeed the end,
I have longed a life with meaning,
How will I ever mend?

How can mother nature be so cruel?
She promised me fruit for life,
call me naive, call me a fool,
you have cut me out with a knife.

I felt the unbalancing nature,
did she find a new seed?
Now who will provide my cater?
I cry out to you, I am in need.

I ask mother nature to be honest with me,
where do I stand? , be forward be straight,
where is my future, what do you see?
I want to carry your fruit, is it too late?
