Racoons

They climb in the trees
Like furry spiders in a web of branches
these
racoons
(are)
like me.

Whenever the rings around my eyes
The self-abuse of alcohol and sex
Contains me within its haze,
I think of those
racoons
again

And relinquish myself
to
(the paws)
of fate.
