The flowers come out at Night and shine their beams -
As stars, which waft a breeze through Her dark veil.
Aromas flood through desolate grey dreams:
In Jasmine hues and Primrose, they assail.

With beauty which surrounds me.
Yet Darkness do I sense
But Light? With reticence

Oh woe, Willow!
Crying onto your reflection –
A Narcissist in loss.
Unmoving but for rustling fronds:

A laptop's length - one smartphone too -
I knew you first through birdsong coy.
A Jovial tease, a Fool's delight,
You came; an errant knight in white.

So pale the bloom of Nature’s Art:
From blackest soil does drink and feed.
With light-filled air does nectar part;
So sweet the kiss from honeybee.

Oh come on – don’t be shy!
Please, feel free to ask or pry.
I’ve no secrets I will tell
But for the rest – ask, I’ll spill.

I kissed him goodbye
And strode for the train:
Trying hard not to cry
By refusing this pain.
