Ernest Hazvi Maengamhuru Poems

Where the wise men gather my heart longs to tread too,
they trace the faint voices rather cold. They evoke memories of old with much eloquence like the lone falcon’s hunt for prey. In it, they live my dream, and veil my inadequacies.

Where the wise men gather they breathe the most refined chant
...

It was a bleak awakening for me when I saw its rays;
the thought that caught me off-guard then i lost hold of the whole picture;
when I perceived the look of silence in your eyes;
a look that warned me of a thousand impossibilities in tincture.
...

I should have allowed us to take a tango
But I harkened to the precept
And I hold this vow- of significant value
…but now you say goodbye.
...

I and Lenore met.
We met…by fate or chance…but we met.
That was not the last bus home
but I had much ado that awaited me ahead
...

Like we began at first,
you severed my wings when i was about to fly
and you pained me, as if you never erred.
When this life takes the gradual twirl,
...

If I had lived before man
And purest of heart shown,
before sin’s suckling was sown
professing infinite love and true love shown.
...

Easy became easy-,
for long I was bound when i returned to befriend you
I finally faced further off and slowly moved anew.
By this, easy became easy-
...

When the man overlooks your loathing,
and talks about anything and nothing,
he hesitates, he says but a few.
...

Nothing is forever,
strife, sorrow; never.
Even as the day lapses
behind my shoulder,
...

Destiny said to a poor lad that came from afore
“Go back and sit in that quiet corner you were before
until you hear your name; the latter things will come”.
...

In caring for my cryptic and prudent promises;
she cares not
in caring for a legion of long and keen chords;
she cares not
...

Rejoice- I despise your rejoicing,
Rejoice my adversary while your mortal soul lasts;
for this is your whole stock and store.
Rejoice, but i will not fall again.
...

This is where you and I sit my love, and soon
we saunter up these steep stairs to our nest,
where our most earnest desires gently unfurl,
and the gloom in our shared life is usurped.
...

Where The Wise Men Gather

Where the wise men gather my heart longs to tread too,
they trace the faint voices rather cold. They evoke memories of old with much eloquence like the lone falcon’s hunt for prey. In it, they live my dream, and veil my inadequacies.

Where the wise men gather they breathe the most refined chant
from souls far long spent and give strength to this heart,
conquered by intense fear then i am forever peaceful in my prayer.

Where the wise men gather My portion I want to accomplish
I have no set goals but just an ironic reverie, forever imperfect i am, yet perfect their reverence i see But forbid me not to share my souvenir from life
Don’t sever this bare heart, with your finicking in your unemotional faces, when you scorn my dream.

Where the wise men gather let me be found;
I am no better dreamer but a journeyman, a tossed vapor,
They build barriers before me yet this dreamer’s cares ferment behind bolted doors and mine is a deafening call to be heard.

Where the wise men gather Let them see;
The stiff parts of my life bear the salient instruction,
so, may it be that where the wise men gather to restore burnt bridges
There I emerge among them, purified, loftier than gold.
