There is nothing in the world
I wouldn't give up for you.
You're all I need
To just be happy.

At leats that's what I tell myself,
Over and over again,
While playing your pet,
Waiting for you to return.

Your grip on me is so tight.
But I can get away.
Just tell me how,
Better yet, I'll find out.

Why do you play with my heart?
Is it because it was so easy to break?
Having been shattered before,
Fixed, but weaker than before.

I trusted you.
Was that your fault or mine?
Are we both to blame?
Or were we both just caught in the crossfire?

Let me go.
Better yet, let me let go.
Your game is too long.
I admit, I lost a while ago.

What I never saw myself doing,
Is now my only option.
A kiss before I walk away,
To ease my troubled heart.

Sad smile.
A quick 'I love you.'
I touch your hand,
To give back what love you gave me.

A glance is the last thing shared.
And then I turn around.
A single tear I allow.
Then a smile, to fake it all.

So badly I want to run,
Away, or into your arms.
Tell you I was joking,
And laugh it off.
