The good and sad My People say
And shells and Souls 
And loss and woes

Grief is an ocean
And the tide rolls in
Oh my heart is the shore
On which these waves are breaking

I grew up so far from the Sea
Rarely saw it
What I did seemed dark and lifeless to me

Isn't it blue how we flock to the Sea
And stop
And stare at her
Stilled by the gravity
...

The slow steady bake of summer begins
The earth heats in the hot winds

The people slow
...

Bare skin
And dipped toes
We're good friends
But used to clothes
