The Sea And Me Poem by Charlie Robbins

The Sea And Me

I grew up so far from the Sea
Rarely saw it
What I did seemed dark and lifeless to me

But the water had such a calming effect
The magnificence of this deep mass
Commanding my respect

I'd feel a sadness leaving her behind
Those rolling waves had distracted
my roving mind

An adult now, I keep her close by
My door open nights
So I can sleep adrift
in Nature's sweetest lullaby
