I walk through the black looming gates.
The ground is heavy with snow.
Flakes skitter from the sky coating my hair and lashes.
My boots make a path up the hill.

We all hope that the hair comes
out in perfect spirals
But we all know that some pieces will kink
and must be straightened again.

The hum of the guitar reaches the headphones and my feet begin their thrum against the
pavement.
The tempo crescendo’s with my steady heartbeat.
Blood rushes with the drums

held together

it shakes the earth

The dirt is finally a rich auburn
The grass is finally emerald
The sun is finally tangerine
The clouds are finally eggshell

Love is a tree
Deep rooted meaning buried beneath on lookers eyes
Bark thick enough to hold off snide remarks
Covers a trunk big enough to hold all the times we've held hands
