Ant Weston Poems

Took all my money and I still came crawling,
Through all the doors that you had shown me to,
Come take my hand and we could feel the dawning,
Of a brand new day,
...

Shut all the lights down and show me what you're worth,
May I remind you that giving is a curse,
And I know, you're the one who told me years ago,
That I wouldn't make it on my own.
...

If I could take it back, I would,
I'd stay at home alone, wasting time for you,
If I could be a better man,
I wouldn't have to stand, stand here on my own,

Don't let the sun go down, you'll be left in the dark,
Don't close your eyes and don't you ever turn your back,
You've seen what he can do, he'll bleed you dry,
Stay here, and lay down for a while...

It's so strange to feel this ache again,
I saw the old show, I felt my love grow,
Feels a shame to watch you walk away...

Take my life, throw my corpse in the ocean,
Love is blind, what we call an illusion,
But for some, it remains resolution,
...

I have realised, that through your pale blue eyes,
You see me as I am, you see me as a man...

The Man That I Could Be

Took all my money and I still came crawling,
Through all the doors that you had shown me to,
Come take my hand and we could feel the dawning,
Of a brand new day,

Don't tell me what you think is necessary,
Don't really need to know what you think,
There was a time when I would listen to you,
But you know things have changed,

These streets are filled with filth and violence,
And it gets worse here everyday,
No one is going to do a thing to change it,
So I shall take my leave,

And when I find my paradise,
I'm going to know that you were worthless to me,
And you'll regret you couldn't see,
That man that I could be...
