Anirudh Singh Poems

The Seventh Cycle.

The clouds gather,
The shadows rise,
...

O' wind of the misty mountains blow,
with songs of bronze and tales of gold,
over green fields and forests old,
whisper in my ear, the story so.
...

Let not, the songs sing
A false set, of a mistaken spring
Let them not behold,
A cloven lie, cleverly told
...

Dread always, the forsaken just,
Ware always their blackened heart,
ware him, he who walks this road.
And follows it down it's final path.
...

Old stones,
and ancient bones,
Deep groves,
and Deeper glades,
...

The Seventh Cycle

The Seventh Cycle.

The clouds gather,
The shadows rise,
The hour deepens,
Time flies.

Seven Days,
And Seven Hours,
Seven Weeks,
And months of old.
Seven Ages, of an era gone
Come anon, The story goes.
Seven Seconds,
And Seven Fevers...
Risen, broken and now we hold.
Seven times you read this Rhyme.
Seven Minutes to the Midnight Road.

Seven Kings,
And Seven crowns,
Seven gilded thrones of Gold.
Seven goblets, Rich with mead,
And seven skulls for guests to see,
Bleached bone, and holding wine,
Of conquered enemies, and glory old.
Seven Gods, who rule this land,
Seven Demons, and the broken sword,
Seven gates, to keep the giants,
Seven paths to the Valhalla Road.

Seven beasts, Seven roars,
Seven fangs and an antler too,
Seven claws, and hoofs of stone,
Seven trees, to mark the fold,
Seven glades, and crystal rivers,
Seven moons, and blessed all.
Lions, Tigers, Bears and Wolfs.
Fox and Hawk, and the Stag yet bold.
Seven beasts, to rule the land
Seven trails, to follow and track,
Seven scents to the Eldest Road.

Seven spells,
And Seven Magics,
Seven Witches in hats and robes,
Seven Ingredients, in an iron pot,
Seven Laddles, to mix them so,
Seven Cackles, and seven glares,
Intruder, intruder, the whispers go,
Seven Eyes, that see me witness,
Seven Oaths of pagan lore,
Seven Warts, to mark their faces,
Seven curses to the Weirding Road

Seven Lords, of Broken Houses.
Seven Shields, on battered stone,
Seven Faces, and sunken eyes,
Seven Tabards, and the arrow holes.
Seven Castles, forgotten to time,
Seven Names, for the dust to hold,
Lastar, Anad, Seltar, Haman,
Broth and Belloc
And fair Gwendolyn too.
Seven Swords to mark the barrows,
Seven Graves to the Ancient Road.

Seven Winds,
Whip up the banners,
Seven Mists and fogs of war,
Seven Heralds, And Seven spears,
Seven Armies, And tales of woe,
Seven Rivers, borne of blood,
Seven Heroes and the Doom they wrought,
Seven Deeds and Seven Tasks,
Seven Songs, sung on in lore,
Seven Years, the steel had clashed,
Seven Lives to the Warrior's Road.

Seven Paths,
And Seven Trails,
Seven Steps, and the one who walks,
Seven times the Bell has tolled.
Seven Meetings, before we go.
Seven Paths have I now led you,
Seven Ages for you to know,
Seven times I walk the Ways,
Seven times, I shall walk them so.
Seven Circles, and Seven Rings,
Seven Roads to the Eternal road.

The time is now,
The way is open.
The way was shut,
But the wheel has turned.
